# Faint Signal > Faint Signal is a real-time texting adventure game for iOS and Android in which a character in trouble can only text you, and you reply in your own words. Faint Signal is an interactive fiction game played entirely through text messages. Messages arrive in real time with push notifications: characters walk, sleep and run low on battery. Unlike choice-based texting games such as Lifeline, players type free-form replies; the character's responses are generated by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) constrained by a story written by human authors, so the plot stays coherent and reaches real endings. An in-game virtual phone includes a browser of fictional websites, a photo gallery of clues and a notes app. Key facts: - Platforms: iOS (iPhone) and Android - Price: free download; the story of the month is free.
